Undergraduate medical students, like other students, have the tendency not to read textbooks. The sentence is uncomfortable but real. Instead, they prefer a book that contains questions and answers, so that they can pass the examinations. Spoon feeding is not preferable for any teacher. With this aim, I decided to write a book where there are questions followed by texts containing answers. Students must read the text to get the answer. However, there are questions, the answer you will not get from the text. In that case, you must find the answer from other sources. For example, you can use “chat Gpt” but be careful it does not provide correct information all the time. It is in the early stage of development. However, you have to cross-check the information that you get from “chat Gpt” searching from the Google scholar.

There are several questions - a) short answer question, b) essay question, c) multiple choice question (MCQ), d) fill in the gap, e) true/false question, f) cross matching question, etc. It is difficult to assess the students’ knowledge by essay question, MCQ, true/false, or cross matching question. This is why my focus is on the short answer question and fill in the gap. I tried to write this book in that manner.

Questions must be designed to assess the students’ knowledge of remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. This is Bloom’s Taxonomy. In was first proposed in 1955 but unfortunately this Taxonomy is not yet applied. Remembering is the focus in the existing examination system. That is why, in this book, I intentionally give less emphasis on the questions of remembering.

The word ‘Drug’ is replaced by the word ‘Medicine’ with some exceptions. However, the students sometimes feel uneasy to read. I personally request you to accept it. Once it is popular, then there will be no problem.
